Sheffield to host leading industry forum for northern event professionals
20 February 2020
Sheffield is set to welcome a delegation of leading event professionals from across the North next month, when the city plays host to the C&IT Northern Forum, 23 -24 March 2020.
The C&IT Northern Forum is a fantastic opportunity for event planners from across the North to network with like-minded people, while attending a programme packed with insightful and motivational sessions, presented by MICE Industry leaders.
Marketing Sheffield has successfully worked with Haymarket Events to attract the industry forum, following a successful joint bid alongside SIV Events and The University of Sheffield. In addition to inspirational ideas to transform their events, attendees will also get the opportunity to experience all that Sheffield has to offer.
Conference & Incentive Travel (C&IT) is the UK’s leading brand for the MICE industry. Calum Di Lieto, Editor of C&IT Magazine said: "Over the last few years C&IT has made a very conscious push to engage the MICE industry outside of London. A lot of the biggest agencies are based in the North of the country and are often forced to commute to the capital or lose out!
“After an incredibly successful debut last year, the Northern Forum is returning and giving us another fantastic opportunity to bring event planners together. What's more it is a chance to showcase a brilliant destination like Sheffield to some of the most influential decision-makers in the country. I'm personally very excited for what looks to be two excellent days of content, networking and exploration!"
Unique to Northern regions, C&IT's Northern Forum is part of a highly successful series of UK and international forums run by Haymarket Events across the year.
Emma France, Marketing Sheffield, said: “We are delighted that our friends at Haymarket have chosen Sheffield for the 2nd Northern Forum. Sheffield is a popular choice for event planners looking at cities in the North and we are excited to be working with the C&IT team plus a range of partners across the city to deliver an inspirational experience. The Forum is all about professional Northern agency and corporate buyers enjoying professional insight, knowledge and entertainment all in one place- what better opportunity to show off some of the best of Sheffield!”
The main forum will takes place at Sheffield City Hall with Mercure St Paul’s Hotel and True North Brew Co. hosting a drinks reception at the Winter Garden. The University of Sheffield will host delegates for dinner at its contemporary dining venue, INOX.
True to Sheffield’s heritage of making, delegates will also get to enjoy an incredible jewellery making experience offered by local company Cast, who is proving popular with some of the world’s top corporate brands. Delegates will stay across three city centre hotels, Mercure St Paul’s Hotel, The Leopold Hotel and the Novotel.
